Nantwich Dining Out Awards ..... 2011

Announcement of winners and runners-up

This is the first time that The Nantwich Food Festival has organised Dining Out Awards for local eating places that have excelled, judged by you ….the diner.  In view of the fantastic response we now want to make this an annual event.

The response was phenomenal, exceeding our wildest expectations.  Over 50 establishments were nominated, attracting just over 4,000 votes. So thank you, voting public, for making this such a runaway success.

Voting was steady since it was launched in July, with the Leader Board changing frequently.  The Dining Out Awards voting finished at 4pm on Sunday, coinciding with the close of the Festival. There was quite hectic voting right up to the end, with just over 4,000 votes cast in total. During the last week of voting the Leader Board changed frequently with places changing overnight..

So who are the winners?

Hotels with dining:  First place to Rookery Hall Hotel with Nunsmere Hall Hotel (2nd) and Hunters Lodge Hotel (3rd).

Cafes:   First place to Nantwich Bookshop Coffee Shop with Minshulls (2nd) and Enzo (3rd).

Pubs with Food:  First place to The Globe with The Yew Tree (2nd) and the Black Lion (3rd).

Restaurants:  Here we have joint winners – Piste & Gee’s Kitchen  - quite amazing that both should attract exactly the same level of support --- with Bon Ami’s in a close third place.

We will be drawing the lucky voters who have won a free meal for two at the winning establishments.  These will be announced on Friday.

We will also be organising a presentation evening for early December, to present each of the winners with their awards and a bottle of champagne, courtesy of Rodney Densem Wines.
