Nigel Brown will party in the festival kitchen!
27th April 2017

Nantwich Food Festival has seen some flamboyant chefs over the years, but this September visitors to the event’s much-loved food theatre will enjoy a party in the kitchen!

Celebrated chef Nigel Brown will entertain food fans during a packed weekend, with a range of tasty recipes that he hopes will encourage people to start cooking themselves.

The Yorkshire-born chef has spent a lifetime in the hotel and catering industry. He has worked in France, produced DVDs and established the Nigel Brown Cookery Academy.

In 2015, Nigel published his first book – NB. HOW TO COOK – that was soon crowned ‘The Best Cookery School Cookbook’ at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

He said: “Nantwich is such a diverse festival and it caters for not only the serious foodie but also the whole family.

“I always aim to engage with the crowd in a fun, friendly yet informative fashion.

“I’m looking forward to not only presenting in the live cookery theatre at the festival, but also demonstrating some fabulous recipes from my award-winning cookbook.

“During my demonstrations, I will be sharing some great hints and tips, but most importantly my recipes will be achievable for all the festival’s visitors – something I think is really important.

“They say the best parties are always in the kitchen, so I hope to see you all there!”

Also appearing across the festival weekend will be last summer’s Great British Bake Off winner, Candice Brown, who is sure to set hearts racing.

High-energy children’s TV entertainer Katy Ashworth makes a welcome return and will appeal to visitors of all ages.

The well-established stars will be joined by chefs from Nantwich restaurants keen to showcase the town’s outstanding cuisine, and up-and-coming talent from Cheshire schools and colleges will also take to the hob.

Entry to the Nantwich Food Festival exhibitor marquees and chef demonstrations is free, with a varied programme of events, music and entertainment scheduled each day.

This year’s festival will take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 September.

We're all huge fans of Mrs Darlington's, and of course we wanted to help promote an event for a great cause:

As many of you will be aware my nephew Max suffered a severe head injury during a day out with my children Jack & Mollie last March. It was a terrible time and the weeks that followed were very dark days indeed but thanks to the incredible skill of the whole team at Alderhey Children’s Hospital Max has made an astonishing recovery, although he still has a journey ahead of him over the next few years.

The care and skill shown by everyone at Alderhey was truly humbling and we decided that we wanted to do something to raise funds to continue their amazing work and the idea of the Beeston Bake-Off and Grand Afternoon Tea was born ( well we have plenty of Jam for the scones at least!)

The date is Sunday September 10th at Allan & Wendy’s home and we have lots of lovely things planned so it will be an afternoon to remember…

I have tickets ready to go so please let me know if you can join us, it would be great to see you all,

Love
