Nantwich Volunteers
"I just can't believe it!" Graham Fenton, Chairman of the Nantwich Food Festival, could not believe his eyes when over 50 volunteers turned up for briefing at tonights Food Festival Meeting.
The Food Festival is being run by a not-for-profit company, to put on the greatest festival ever for the benefit of the residents and businesses of Nantwich. Having no money, they called for volunteers... to help with manning the information points, helping visitors find the many events, managing the exhibitors, helping put on displays etc., etc.. And volunteers have appeared from everywhere!
Keith Lawrence, Volunteer Coordinator for the Festival, was not surprised. "This Festival has really brought the Town together. What's really great is to see the wide range of ages and interests working to make the Festival a success. School leavers to Grand Parents. Unemployed to business executives. They're all there."
And that's how it should be. We can't guarantee the weather for this weekend but we guarantee that visitors, exhibitors and volunteers will not be bored ... there's just so many exciting things happening.

And here's just a few scenes from the Volunteer briefing evening:
