Introducing the Performers...

Gino D’Acampo

Many chefs have had colourful lives but few can match Gino D'Acampo's. Born into a poor Neapolitan family, he has cooked in France, Spain and the UK, cooked for Pavarotti and has now forged a successful career in TV.
Gino caught the cooking bug from his grandfather (a head chef in Naples) and entered the Luigi de Medici Catering College at the age of 15, where each summer he was sent to different kitchens across Europe to gain experience.

He came over to England and soon made his first TV appearance on UKTV Food's Great Food Live, quickly following this with guest slots on BBC2's Saturday Kitchen. He has gone on to become hugely popular through regular appearances on BBC's Ready Steady Cook, ITV’s Daily Cooks

Challenge and BBC’s Step Up To The Plate amongst many others. He has also been seen in his own series for ITV, Chef Vs. Britain, and for UKTV Food – An Italian In Mexico and An Italian Returns To Mexico.
Gino first book, Fantastico, was published in October 2007 and gained the prestigious Gourmand International Award for Best Italian Cookbook. His second, also published by Kyle Cathie, is called Buonissimo and will be published in October 2008. More here...

Guo Yue - musician • composer • author • cook

THE INTERNATIONAL SOLOIST AND COMPOSER GUO YUE is well known in the music world for the soaring beauty and descriptive poetry of his Chinese bamboo flutes. However he is also becoming well known as a specialist in Chinese home cooking. His memoir, MUSIC, FOOD AND LOVE, tells the story of a musical childhood in the old alleys and courtyards of Beijing, before and during the Cultural Revolution and contains many traditional recipes.

Find out more about Guo Yue’s performances, recordings, compositions, cookery workshops, writings, interviews and tours to China, where he teaches students the art of authentic Chinese cuisine.

‘I have heard Guo Yue play his music, I have eaten his food, and guarantee he delivers in a magical way.’ PETER GABRIEL
