CAMRA Beer Festival

Once again the South Cheshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale will be running the Nantwich Beer Festival (now in it’s seventh year) as part of the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival. The CAMRA Nantwich Beer Festival, one of the largest in Cheshire, opens at 5pm at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday 26 September. Entry is completely free of charge to the daytime sessions on the Saturday and Sunday (before 5pm). Opening times and prices are as follows:

Beer Festival Charity for 2008: St Lukes Hospice.

With more than 70 beers and ciders for you to try, this very popular CAMRA event will feature locally produced ales and ciders from Cheshire’s breweries including Woodlands, Weetwood, Beartown and Coach House. The guest region this year will be the beers of Devon and Cornwall, which, we're sure, will complement the beers of Cheshire and the surrounding areas. For the third consecutive year the festival will host the Champion Beer of Cheshire competition, an award eagerly sought after by the local brewers.

Running throughout September will be the very popular Real Ale Trail, featuring around twenty pubs in the south Cheshire area, with prizes sponsored by local breweries and pubs.

There will be live music on both evenings (Friday: Treebeard and Saturday: Left-hand drive) and the Saturday afternoon will, as previously, be the family session. Sunday will be the “quiet” session, an ideal time to chat and read the papers whilst drinking some excellent beer. Both the Saturday afternoon and Sunday sessions are free admission.
