The Festival organisers are thrilled to report that the Brasswurst Bavarian Beer Band will be entertaining visitors at this Friday evening’s extravaganza, the 5th September, starting at 6pm and going on until 8.30pm.

Bringing a combination of Lederhosen, traditional Oompah tunes and modern classics, Brasswurst Bavarian Beer Band is the most exciting and versatile group to emerge from the North West of England. As all good things are, the band was formulated over a few pints of beer in a pub in Manchester. Five friends all with an interest in the unusual side of music and, more importantly, beer, this seemed like the perfect way to get an excuse to visit as many beer festivals as possible!

Brasswurst is based on a traditional German Oompah band and consists of a clarinet, a trumpet, a trombone, a euphonium and a tuba. The members are all top quality full time professional musicians based in Manchester and have played with the Oompah Band all over the UK in venues both large and small.

Brasswurst will add to all the rest of the entertainment – Pastiche and their fire breathers, stilt walkers, dancers and magician plus face painter and cartoon characters from Mums in the Know; all of them will be in town all evening to delight and thrill festival visitors. Best of all, the entertainment is all completely free of charge.

The two main marquees will stay open so that visitors can be entertained and eat and drink at the same time – all in all it should be a great evening. Do come along and join the fun.
